History

We encourage pupils to develop a curiosity, appreciation and understanding of the past, evaluating a range of primary and secondary sources.   Using these sources, our historians will be able to explain how people around the world used to live, their role in society and how all interpretations are similar or different then and now. We aim to develop sound chronological understanding, that is supported through sequential lessons, with a focus on applying historical skills to deepen understanding of the curriculum content. We use visits within our local area to enhance children’s learning as well as celebrating historical diversity from around the world.
