Computing
At Mary Exton Primary School, Computing is an essential part of our curriculum, equipping pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Using the Purple Mash Computing Scheme of Work from Reception to Year 6, we deliver a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that develops pupils’ computational thinking, creativity and digital literacy. Our approach ensures pupils become confident users of technology who can work safely, responsibly and effectively, while also making meaningful links with learning across the wider curriculum.
Below are key documents that provide a clear overview of our Computing curriculum and demonstrate how it is delivered across the school. They outline the progression of skills and knowledge from Early Years to Year 6, showing how pupils build on prior learning and develop computational thinking, digital literacy, and safe, responsible use of technology. These resources also highlight important links across the curriculum, illustrating how Computing is integrated with other subjects and contributes to pupils’ broader learning and personal development.
