Welcome to our school!
Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,
A very warm welcome to Mary Exton Primary School, and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope you find it informative and that it gives you a real insight into our wonderful school community.
As Headteacher, I feel incredibly privileged to lead Mary Exton Primary School and to work alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families and, most importantly, our fantastic children. Together, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives the very best education and experiences throughout their primary years.
Our last Ofsted report highlighted what it is like to attend our school, saying: "Mary Exton Primary School is a happy place for pupils to learn and play. The school is like a big family where everybody supports each other and welcomes others. Positive relationships are quickly forged between staff and children in the early years and this mutual respect is further strengthened as pupils progress through the school."
Mary Exton Primary is an inclusive and nurturing one-form entry school where we provide a caring, creative and stimulating environment in which every child can flourish. We celebrate the individuality of every pupil and believe that strong partnerships between home, school and other professionals are key to helping children achieve their full potential. This commitment to collaboration was recognised when we were awarded Partnership School of the Year in 2021.
Children's happiness and emotional wellbeing are central to everything we do. We know that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and supported, and we are proud to have received the Kite Mark for Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health in recognition of our work in this area.
We believe that primary school should inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our broad, engaging curriculum is enriched through educational visits, visitors to school and memorable learning experiences that bring learning to life and encourage curiosity, creativity and confidence.
At Mary Exton, we are the HEART of our school community. Our values of Happiness, Empathy, Ambition, Respect and Togetherness underpin everything we do and help create a nurturing, ambitious and inspiring place to learn.
Our HEART values are at the heart of school life:
-
Happiness: creating a safe, joyful environment for all.
-
Empathy: encouraging kindness, understanding and care for others.
-
Ambition: inspiring children to aim high and achieve their best.
-
Respect: fostering respect for ourselves, each other and our world.
-
Togetherness: celebrating teamwork and community.
Our vision is to inspire every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally so they can achieve their full potential. Through a carefully planned curriculum that builds knowledge and skills year by year, we ensure every child develops the confidence and resilience they need for future success.
Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to provide opportunities that inspire, challenge and support every child. We greatly value the strong relationships we build with families and our local community, recognising that by working together we can provide the very best opportunities for our children.
If you are considering Mary Exton Primary School for your child, I warmly invite you to visit our school, meet our pupils and staff, and experience our HEART values in action.
I look forward to welcoming you to Mary Exton Primary School.
